Local House Fire is a Good Reminder to Check Your Smoke Alarms

Jun 29, 2021

In the early morning of Monday, June 21 st, firefighters responded to a small house fire in Bonney Lake
near the 13200 block of 210th Ave E.

The firefighters who responded say the fire can serve as a reminder about why it’s so important to have a working smoke alarm. According to East Pierce Fire, the residents had a working smoke alarm that tripped the siren and alerted them to the fire. The occupants called 911, and the fire department was quickly on the scene, quickly dousing the fire and saving the house. No injuries were reported.

While the firefighters of East Pierce Fire deserve credit for their swift work, they say the fire alarm saved them precious time, ultimately saving the home. They are reminding everyone to take the time to test the alarms in their own homes. Smoke alarms should be replaced every ten years.
